UK PENSION ADVICE PROCESS
OUR UK PENSION ADVICE PROCESS SERVICE IS HIGHLY PERSONALISED WITH A TRANSPARENT PROCESS AND BOUTIQUE APPROACH.
OUR ROLE IN THE UK PENSION ADVICE PROCESS IN ITS MOST SIMPLE FORM IS TO MAKE OUR CLIENTS FULLY INFORMED OF ALL THE OPTIONS THAT EXIST FOR THEM, & WORK WITH THEM TO FIND THE MOST APPROPRIATE SOLUTION.
Before any of our clients take any action, they should be able to know and understand the follow:
The clear differences between their existing pensions, and all UK and Overseas Options
Any benefits relevant to their personal circumstances
The downside of all the options available (UK and Overseas)
Total cost breakdown including advice, pension and investment fees
For Defined Benefit Schemes, the true cost of what they are giving up
What the fees relate to, and how they have been calculated
The Regulatory and Policyholder protection that exists
Taxation costs and benefits of retaining or transferring a pension
WHAT WE DO NOT DO
We do not take commission (excludes mortgages and life cover)
We have no hidden costs (all fees for all aspects of any pension planning are transparent)
We do not advise on unregulated Investments
We do not advise on unnecessary products such as an Offshore Bond within a pension (every penny will go towards something relevant and tangible)
We do not recommend pension schemes that do not pass our due diligence requirements
We do not provide advice where we cannot evidence and document suitability for any transfer, or where any benefits come at too high a price.
We provide you with independent videos to view around Safeguarded Benefits (including Defined Benefit Pensions), to educate you about the things you need to know, and think about if considering a transfer.
An initial discussion may take place before this, however, we are not permitted to discuss your Defined Benefit Scheme(s) at this time.
Initial discussion about your personal circumstances and objectives, fees, process, review of videos and reasons not to transfer.
Formal Fact-Finding (subject to your agreement to move to this stage) including detailed discussion of options and cost benefit analysis.
Review of fact-find information. Decide whether a transfer is unsuitable. If yes, confirm with you via letter. If no, provide a letter of engagement detailing full advice.
Produce suitability report.
(Subject to your agreement to move to this stage).
We provide application and other relevant forms and requirements.
(If advice is to transfer and you agree to proceed with the transfer).
Submit application forms to the new pension provider and work with the existing provider to transfer funds.
Transfer complete – We either send funds to the Investment Manager or provide details of Current FX rate / exchange options for current switch into other currency.
Either arrange for onward transfer of funds to relevant country OR continue to provide on-going service in the UK.
The process may vary slightly depending upon factors such as age, location, type of transfer etc.
Client Agreement, business cards and process email provided either before or after Step 1 depending upon individual circumstances.
